Microfilming
Microformatting encompasses most analog storage mediums including microfilm and microfiche, COM (Computer output to microfilm) fiche and aperture cards. There are many advantages to converting paper documents to microfilm. It is very compact, therefore decreasing storage costs from that of paper documents. Generally, a year of a periodical in microfilm form takes 10% of the space of its paper version.
As a stable archival form microfilm can be stored for up to 500 years in optimum conditions and still be readable. Microfilm can be left in its raw form or turned into microfiche or aperture cards. Not only can we supply the converted documentation but we can provide the equipment to view your microfilm afterwards.
If you already have your paper documentation archived in microfilm format we can convert your microfilm to electronic images. These can then be integrated into a range of systems, including our own bespoke software.
